The Tactical Games: An Unparalleled Competition

The Tactical Games represent a unique and rapidly growing competitive arena. Often described as “American Ninja Warrior with guns” or “CrossFit meets combat,” this event presents a challenge unlike any other. It’s a demanding test of tactical athletes, pushing them to their limits across a spectrum of combat-related tasks. These tasks are performed under time constraints and significant physical duress, demanding both skill and endurance.

Consider the difference: hitting a target with a pistol at 50 yards under ideal conditions is one thing. But imagine doing the same after a mile run, dragging a 200 lb. mannequin, navigating obstacles, and then maintaining accuracy with a heart rate exceeding 150 beats per minute. The Tactical Games elevate the challenge to a whole new level.

While there might be some overlap with Three Gun competitions, primarily in the use of firearms, the two types of events are fundamentally different. Three Gun matches typically involve sprint-style scenarios lasting only a few minutes. The Tactical Games, however, test competitors’ shooting abilities during and after grueling physical challenges. Success in this competition demands the fitness level of a professional athlete combined with the tactical and technical proficiency of elite tactical operatives.

Victory isn’t achieved through sheer shooting skill or brute strength alone; it requires a synergistic blend of both. The competition’s foundation lies in a highly secretive event previously hosted and run by NATO Tier 1 units, adding to its mystique and credibility.

Guns.com described their experience:

Five months ago, I found a picture on Instagram of two buff dudes wearing full-combat gear while carrying 180-pound barbells toward a shooting box. It looked more intense than your average two-gun event. After a little digging, I learned the exercise was part of an event at the new Tactical Games. According to the event’s website , the games invite “tactical athletes” to compete for the title of “most dangerous man on earth” through a series of events where “crossfit-meets-combat.” While anyone can participate, slots are limited to 120 and the pre-screening process has a high bar as participants must demonstrate an ability to complete both fitness and shooting challenges. … As a competitive shooter with some athletic ability, it looked like a fun challenge, so I signed up.
