Actor Lou Ferrigno, best known for his role as “The Incredible Hulk” on television from 1977 to 1983, has taken on a new role: reserve sheriff’s deputy. The 68-year-old former bodybuilder was sworn in as a New Mexico sheriff’s deputy in Socorro County.
Ferrigno’s law enforcement experience isn’t new. He previously served as a reserve deputy with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office in California starting in 2012. In 2016, he joined former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s volunteer sheriff posse, assisting with patrols along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Socorro County Sheriff William Armijo anticipates that Ferrigno will significantly contribute to the department’s recruitment efforts, according to Fox News.
