Former Tulsa Police Officer Responds to Joy Behar’s Gun Confiscation Remarks

Dianna Muller, a former Tulsa police officer, has publicly criticized Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” for her comments regarding firearm confiscation. Behar suggested that politicians should conceal their intentions to confiscate guns until after they are elected into office. Muller voiced her concerns on “Fox & Friends,” stating that Behar’s remarks reinforce the perception that liberals are willing to deceive and manipulate to achieve their political goals.

Behar’s comments stemmed from a discussion about former 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, who openly declared his plans for gun control prior to the election. Behar argued that O’Rourke’s transparency was a strategic error, advising future politicians to keep such plans secret until they have secured their positions of power, as reported by Fox News. She stated, “They should not tell everything they’re going to do. If you’re going to take people’s guns away, wait until you get elected — then take the guns away. Don’t tell them ahead of time.”

Co-host Meghan McCain also commented, suggesting that O’Rourke’s stance on gun control had alienated independent voters from the Democratic Party. Muller strongly condemned Behar’s suggestion, questioning how someone with such a significant platform could advocate for candidates to lie to gain power and impose their will on the public. “How disgusting is it that a woman with such reach and such influence on millions of viewers on a major network can propose for a candidate to lie in order to get their way and then impose a different will on the people,” Muller said.

O’Rourke withdrew from the 2020 presidential race shortly after, acknowledging that his campaign lacked the resources to continue effectively.

Muller has been a vocal advocate for Second Amendment rights. She previously testified before a House hearing on assault weapons, where she passionately defended the rights of gun owners.

During her testimony, Muller addressed the potential consequences of assault weapons ban, stating, “Please don’t legislate the 150 million people just like me into being criminals. It has happened. You’ve already done it.” She referenced the Trump administration’s ban on bump stocks, devices that increase a semi-automatic weapon’s firing rate. Muller, a former bump stock owner, expressed her dilemma: “I was a bump stock owner, and I had to make a decision: do I become a felon, or do I comply?” She declared that she would not comply with a future assault weapons ban.
