Video Easter Evidence

Cops are often viewed as cynical individuals. This cynicism, born from years of experience, is what allows them to excel in a profession where evidence and truth are paramount, often outweighing personal feelings. After wearing a uniform for over 30 years, I understand this perspective.

Many believe that Christianity hinges on an emotional acceptance of stories, tales told “once upon a time,” whose veracity is questionable. Regardless of how you refer to the holiday—Easter bunnies, eggs, etc.—the core reason for its place on the calendar is to celebrate the belief that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the grave. This resurrection, according to Christian belief, allows him to offer himself as a redeemer to humanity. The Hebrew term for redeemer signifies one who rescues others from indentured slavery.

For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. – Job 19:25

If the resurrection of Jesus did not occur, Christianity would cease to exist. Yet, it was a highly educated antagonist, Saul of Tarsus (later known as Paul), who wrote:

Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, …” – 1 Corinthians 15:6

This fact possesses significant historical documentation that cannot be easily dismissed. If five hundred people witnessed the resurrected Christ, several possibilities arise:

  1. The Swoon Theory: This theory suggests that Jesus never truly died, which is medically unrealistic given the brutality of Roman crucifixion.
  2. Imposter Scenario: An imposter convincingly fooled everyone, so much so that others were willing to die for the charade. This stretches credulity.
  3. Mass Conspiracy: Five hundred people were involved in a conspiracy. This is not only improbable but also a dangerous undertaking that would have inevitably led to exposure and severe consequences.
  4. Jesus is the Messiah: The most straightforward explanation is that Jesus is indeed who he claimed to be.

Today, there are more than 2.2 billion people willing to do what eleven disciples feared when Jesus was crucified—to follow him. Those eleven were part of the five hundred, and that is why the figure now exceeds 2.2 billion. Those disciples became the original martyrs. Some might dismiss this by saying that there have been plenty of martyrs for all religions. While true, martyrs outside of the original 11 disciples have died for something they thought to be true. However, none can be counted as martyrs for something they knew to be false.

If the resurrection was a fairy tale, those men died for something they knew to be a lie. That is Easter evidence that is difficult to reconcile as a fable. Without the resurrection, no other holiday on the Christian calendar would exist!

According to the Bible, Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Have a blessed Easter celebration!
