I recently had the opportunity to visit the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, Texas. It’s important to note that this museum is dedicated to the peace officers, not the baseball team. During my visit, I came across a quote from Captain Bill McDonald that resonated with me deeply. Captain McDonald was a Texas Ranger who served in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
His quote is: “No man in the wrong can stand up against a fellow that’s in the right, and keeps on a-comin’.”
Those who knew him well said McDonald was, “a man who would charge hell with a bucket of water.” This speaks volumes about his courage, determination, and unwavering commitment to justice. It illustrates the kind of warrior spirit that defined him.
McDonald’s perseverance and warrior spirit are qualities that have always inspired me and made me proud to be a peace officer, associated with so many others who share the same dedication and disposition as this historical hero. His legacy continues to inspire those in law enforcement today.
